Northwest Resource Federal Credit Union began in 1935 when eleven employees from Portland Gas and Coke decided to pool their money to form a financial cooperative. These founding members encouraged other gas company employees to deposit their money into the Credit Union so that their co-workers who needed to borrow could at a reasonable rate.

Today, Northwest Resource serves NW Natural employees and their families, as well as anyone who lives or works in Multnomah County, Oregon.

Unlike a bank, the profits of Northwest Resource are returned to our members in the form of better savings and loan rates and lower fees. Each member of the Credit Union is an equal owner and has an equal vote to elect their board of directors. The board of directors are Credit Union members who volunteer their time to oversee the welfare of the Credit Union.

At Northwest Resource, we strive to provide a rewarding experience through every interaction we have with you. After over 70 years, we are still in the business of rewarding financial responsibility and promoting thrift. We help you save (or pay yourself first) and borrow responsibly.
